OUR PREACHER

​

We welcome Walter "Buddy" Reed to share God's Word with us while we look for a full time minister. 

 A native Virginian (Shenandoah Valley), he became a Christian as a junior in High School. Buddy graduated from Johnson Bible College (now Johnson University) in Knoxville, TN and Pacific Christian College (now Hope International University) in Fullerton, CA.

 

He and his wife Sally of forty-five years are proud parents of two grown sons and they have six grandchildren whom they visit often.

 

Buddy recently retired from forty-five years in church ministry having served churches in Tennessee, California, North Carolina and Virginia. His hobbies include deer hunting, motorcycle riding and playing the guitar.

 

He shares his greatest joy “ seeing people discover who God is, watch them run to Him and to be a part of their life as they follow Him”.

OUR CHURCH BELIEVES

In God the Father.  

 

We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and our Savior.

 

We accept the Old and New Testaments as the inspired Word of God, and hold no other creed or authority outside of the Bible.

 

We observe the institution of the Lord's Supper on every Lord's Day

 (Acts 2:42, Acts 20:7) and invite you to join with us in this celebration

if Jesus is your Lord and Savior.

 

We believe the church is the body of Christ

(Col. 1:18).

We believe in forgiveness from sins is found in Christ, through faith as one repents, and is baptized (Acts 2:38).

 

Our church is led by elders, served by deacons and our purpose is to worship and serve God

and help others do the same

according to the Bible.

 

Where the Scriptures speak, we speak;

where the Scriptures are silent, we are silent.

Core Values

Our core values are our guiding principles that determine everything that we do and everything that we want to be.  This is why we exist.

 

  1. Value the Authority of Scripture. (James 1:22-25).  We believe that the Bible is God's Word.  We will teach from God's Word.  We will study God's Word, and we will obey God's Word.

  2. Engage in Inspiring Worship. (Acts 2:42). We love God and want to demonstrate His greatness.  We will do so through prayer, music, remembering the death of Jesus in communion, giving Him gifts and supporting His church through offering, and seeking to apply the Bible to our lives through preaching.

  3. Welcome and Appreciate Guests. (Luke 7:36-48). Jesus loved the "outsiders" and so do we!  We want to show everyone how much God loves the and how much we love them, through welcoming them into their new home at Parick Springs Christian Church.

  4. Serve in and For the Community. (Matthew 20:25-28).  Jesus helped the people around Him who were in need.  We want to do the same. We don't just want to say that we love people.  We want to show it.

  5. Strive for Maturity in Christ. (John 15:1-8). Unlike physical growth, spiritual growth takes work. The only way that we can grow is by drawing closer to Jesus in a community of believers.  That's why Jesus invented the church.
